Sketchbook Rat
2D Animation Experiments, 2021
From time to time I take small pieces from my Sketchbook and bring them to life. Sometimes as full 3D renderings, other times as animated version of like here. This rat scribble was a lot of fun, the animation is focusing to be very economic, so it’s just little to no redrawn frames, and a lot of wiggle effects.
I really want to animate this small buddy somehow in #b3d. Should I try to build it in 3D or with 2D with #greasepencil 🤔

This time I animated the character with Blenders Grease Pencil tool, which has evolved more and more other the time. Due to it’s nature as something between your everyday vector graphic and polygon meshes moving, scaling and rotating is a breeze.
