Game Jam, 2025

I did participate in the flickjam hosted by Rek & Devine. It’s a little game jam built around the quite minimalistic, but still powerful game engine called flickgame. The limitations, maximum of 16 slides, 16 colors, and a 320x200 canvas.

Details and Making-Of

When I read about the engine the first time I instantly had to try out what kind of game I would like to make. I also uploaded that first version, which is a little more loose and branches more. Play it here.

Here is a flow chart of the first exploration, making use of branching and backgrefereneces from many nodes. The dottet connection lines have no futher meaning, it’s just for making crossing lines more readable diagram

The jam game has a more symmetrical flow with less back refrences and only one end. It’s more like a fun little pciture book than a game where you have to search for specific items or mechanics. I like the symmetry and it’s the bridges between the two sides of the flow. diagram

As this jam was quite clear and small I tried to play all the submitted games and made sure to leave feedback. One thing that often is hard with larger jams and communities, but was very wholesome this time.
