I spent some time in April building a mesh and surface generator for spaceships. The abstract baseshapes are combined with predefined symmetries, but can also show asymmetrical features. A greeble shader displaces the surfaces and helps define the scale of the spaceships.
There are two videos available: one showcasing how to tweak the ships in realtime youtube.com and another featuring a high resolution turntable with some random highlights youtbube.com. For some designs I was lucky to have support from the talented Lino Thomas who shared some base shapes with me.
