Live Equipment, 2025
Hi, I’m Alex, and I perform as zuggamasta. Which is an audiovisual project I’ve been working on for years now. I do both the music and visuals live on stage. But do not worry, it’s quite a simple setup.
Stage setup
I need a minimum of 130 cm x 80 cm space (the best is 150 cm x 100 cm for some room). If possible, I prefer a setup where people can walk around me and take a look at the machines in action. I require good access to the two cases I bring and place a small keyboard in front of them. I usually play standing and expect a regular DJ desk, but if the venue is a chill place, I can also play sitting down on the floor. I require only a small bit of light on my setup and bring my own battery-powered LEDs in case stage light is not available or otherwise. I use modular Eurorack synthesizers but convert everything down to line-level signals for punch-in effects and FFT analysis to sync my visuals.
My Music
- Various recorded performances
- 2024 Live in Amsterdam
- 2025 Live in Cologne (audience had headphones)
Power and Connections
- 1x regular 240V power outlet for my Laptop
- 1x regular 240V power outlet for the rest of the setup (I distribute the power to the devices inside the aluminum case).
- 1x Regular HDMI out, via Apple USB-C dongle, 1920×1080p 60Hz
I typically use stereo outs. Please let me know in advance if the venue only allows for mono. I bring a bunch of cables and can provide either of the following:
- 2x 6.3 mm mono plugs (line level, balanced)
- 2x 6.3 mm mono jacks (line level, unbalanced)
- 1x 3.5 mm stereo jack (line level, unbalanced)
- 2x RCA mono jacks (line level, unbalanced)
